DRAWINGS
It always begins with a line. Personally, drawing a line is an exploration: It starts somewhere, it ends somewhere, it builds a tension while tracing it over the paper. Then I repeat it but it follows a different pattern and then another. Sometimes they cross and that dimension creates another tension. I love to build up these tensions and, if I am lucky, it results in a harmony. The tension dissolves.

Many times lines become scrawls, scribbles.

And then I mix up materials resulting in competing layers.

Drawing is like a musical composition: I build tensions and balances. You repeat and it gives another tension; creates another balance. A harmony is the goal. If everything works out, several drawings next to each other form another harmony.

My restless soul searches for a peace – finds it; even only for an instant.
